Introduction:

Now that Windows 10 is available for public download and installation, people have more questions than ever on the recent version of Windows. We have prepared the questions we most often ask here and have compiled them to help you get familiar with Windows 10.

Frequently asked questions:

How do I get Windows 10?

Getting Windows 10 on yourcomputer (be it an upgrade or a clean install) is a simple matter. You need to download the Windows 10 Setup tool from your Cheapersoftware.co.uk order history, to run the Setup process then to finish it with a system restart. It's really a surprisingly simple process. You can switch from Windows 7 or 8.1 to run Windows 10 as fast as your connection will download the update.

How long does it take to install Windows 10?

For example, if you upgrade the Windows 8 operating system to INTEL Celeron 2.6 GHz with SATA hard disk, this may last 15 minutes for 32-bit or 20-minutes for 64-bit computers. If you want to install Windows 10 on SSD, this may take about 12 to 14 minutes. For the old laptop model, the upgrade time can last from 25 to 30 minutes.

Can I revert to Windows 7 or 8 if I didn’t like Windows 10?

Within the first 30 days, after upgrading to Windows 10, you can return from Windows 10 to the previous version of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. You can even wipe your machine completely and reinstall your old version of Windows with the old key.

Will my old apps and devices still work?

Most applications remain functional on Windows 10. The good news is that we have not encountered a single application that has not worked yet (including very old but useful applications that we have already installed since Windows XP).

How do I upgrade from Vista to Windows 10?

To switch from Windows Vista to Windows 10, the PC must have a 1 Gigahertz processor and 1 Gigabyte of memory for the 32-bit version of the system or 2 Gigabytes for 64-bit edition. The computer also requires 16 to 20 Gigabytes of hard drive space and a DirectX 9-compliant graphics card running the WDDM 1.0 driver software.

Do I lose my programs if I switch from Windows XP or Vista to Windows 10?

If you are running Windows XP or Vista, upgrading your computer to Windows 10 will remove all your programs, settings, and files. Make sure to perform a full backup of your system before installation to avoid this.
