Introduction:

There is a big difference between the installed memory and the usable memory. Installed memory refers to the amount of physical memory installed on your PC, while usable memory refers to the amount of memory that can be used by Windows (or what is available for Windows after sharing some of the memory installed with other equipment).
Sometimes you notice that your PC becomes slow and during the inspection, you found that Windows only uses a portion of the actual size installed on your PC. In this article, we will discover how to use the actual size of RAM on your Windows 10 operating system.

The most common cause of this state is related to sharing RAM installed with other hardware such as graphics cards integrated on the motherboards.

Since these integrated graphics cards do not have their own memory, they usually share the memory of the installed physical memory. Fortunately, the memory consumption of integrated graphics can be adjusted from the bios settings of the motherboard.

Steps to follow:

How to increase the maximum usable memory in Windows
1. Type Msconfig in the Windows search box and press Enter.

2. Select the Start tab, and then click Advanced Options.

3. Select the Maximum Memory check box and click OK.
4. It is optional to specify the number of processors.

Now you will need to reboot your PC and when it turns on, you can check the ownership of your computer and Windows should use the maximum usable memory.
