Introduction

Microsoft Outlook is quite powerful, and for many, it is considered as the best messaging tool. Now, the software is not really easy to use because of the multitude of features it offers.
If you are using the latest version of Outlook 2016, you may experience difficulties using the email management software. For many users of the program, the main concern is to have maximum control over notifications and reminders.
Sometimes Calendar notifications can be annoying. Just imagine having multiple birthday notifications in one day from multiple Outlook or Facebook contacts that you have not contacted for years.
Reminders appear on your screen before the event is scheduled. In addition, reminders also emit warning sounds that may bother you, especially if you are focused on something else. To stop warnings, you must turn off reminders. However, be sure not to forget your events; Outlook will not warn you under any circumstances after turning off reminders.

Steps to follow

Disable Outlook Calendar Reminders

1. Launch Outlook and click on "Calendar" near the bottom of the screen.

2. To prevent Outlook from creating default reminders for new events, click "File".
3. Then click on "Options".

4. Then, click on "Calendar".
5. Clear the "Reminders by default" check box then click on "OK".

6. To turn off existing event reminders, open each event and choose "None" from the Reminder drop-down list on the Appointment Occurrence or Meeting Occurrence tab. You can find the Appointment Occurrence and Meeting Occurrence tabs in the Options group.

To quickly locate calendar events, switch to list view.
1. Then click on "Show",
2. Click on "Change Display" and choose "List" from the menu.

Delete contextual notifications from the calendar
1. To do, click on "File", then click on "Options"
2. Click Advanced Options.
3. Scroll down until you see "Reminders",
4. Then uncheck the box if you do not prefer to display reminders. In addition, users can turn off reminder sounds and choose a different tone from the default one.

If you are using the Windows 10 version of Microsoft Calendar, there is no way to remove notifications and reminders.
