Introduction

The updated Windows 10 Creators brought new tools, including a simulator that lets you experience mixed-reality applications without a headset.

Mixed reality which is also known as "Windows Holographic" provides virtual reality and 3D experience to users of Windows 10. This feature introduced in Windows 10 v1709 combines the thrill of virtual reality with augmented reality in games and the streaming. This feature was made possible by advances in computer vision, improved graphics processing power, improved display technology, and input systems.

Unlike the Hololens emulator that runs applications on a virtual machine, mixed reality applications work just like any other application; the simulator makes them believe that you actually have a headset, and your movements are controlled with your normal peripherals instead of having your body tracked in real time.

Here's how to enable the Windows Reality Mixed Simulator (WMR) in Windows 10 Creators Update.

Recommended for you: Install the Windows 10 Creators Update

Steps to activate Windows Reality Mix

1- You can access it from the Settings section. However, if you find this parameter missing, you can add it. Then click on “update and security”.
