The Taskkill command allows you to schedule the shutdown of an application or program at any time.

You have scheduled the launch of an application or a script that does not stop by itself and you would like also to schedule a shutdown? With the Taskkill command, you can schedule a task to close any program.

Steps to follow when planning to close an application on Windows

1. Open the notebook application.

2. In the Notepad page, you will specify the programs to run. Add each program on a separate line. Then enter the following command replacing Program.exe with the name of the executable of the program to be closed.

3. After adding all the desired programs, click File and then Save.

4. Select the All Files option in the Type list.

5. In the File Name field, add a name to your script, making sure to set it to the .bat extension, for example Force close.bat. Save the file to the desktop.

6. Start the task scheduler on the Start menu to schedule the launch of your script and stop the defined program.

7. Next, click Create Task.

8. Choose a name for your scheduled task and click the Triggers tab.

9. Then, click the New button.

10. Then select the day, time and frequency of your task. Then, click OK.

11. Next, open the Actions tab and click New.

12. Click the Browse button next to the Program / Script field.

13. Choose your bat file containing the script that closes the program, and click Open.

14. Validate the procedure with OK. Your closing script will automatically run on the selected day and time.
