Introduction
PowerPoint has a default slide size, but you must not be limited by it. With the tips we are going to provide via this article, you can customize your PowerPoint slides to the size you want.
Now, if you've been a PowerPoint user for a long time, you're probably used to seeing your slides in a 4: 3 format, which is very close to the place. However, everything has changed for a long time. Large screen is now the standard presentation format and since the 2013 version of PowerPoint, the default slide size has been set to a widescreen 16: 9 aspect ratio. However, you can always return to the 4: 3 setting or even set your own custom size.
A quick note: Changing the orientation of your slides is not really the same as changing its size; you turn them on the page.
However, if that's what you're looking for, you can do it too.
Steps to follow
1. In PowerPoint, click the View tab and make sure you are in Normal mode.
2. Next, click the Design tab and choose Slide Size.
3. The basic options are simply to switch between 16: 9 or 4: 3 image formats, but what we are really interested in is
under the size of the custom slide, so click on it.
4. Here you will see many more options. There is the possibility to change your slides from a landscape (which is the default) to a portrait orientation. You will also see a drop down menu, where you can find many more size options for your PowerPoint slides. For example, the size of letterhead can be useful if you want people to be able to easily print your slides after a presentation.
5. You can also customize the size using the Width and Height fields.
In fact, you can even set your default size. To do:
6. Click the Design tab, then navigate to Themes and click the down arrow.
7. Save the theme and give it a name.
8. Then return to the same arrow. Right-click it and click Set As Default Theme.
This way, when you start a new presentation, you get the preferred slide size instead of the standard Microsoft default.
