Windows 10 tips: How to unlock your PC using Windows Hello facial recognition

Windows 10 includes a feature called Windows Hello, which allows you to connect using biometric data such as fingerprints or facial recognition. Windows Hello uses biometric sensors to instantly recognize your face or fingerprints and unlock your device without the need for a password.
Biometric login is secure, fast and easy to create.

We will show you in this article how to set up Windows Hello in a time record.

Check whether your device works with Windows hello or not:

In order to benefit from the Windows hello feature you need a computer compatible with the Windows Biometric Framework technology for fingerprint and some specific peripherals like Intel real sense technology webcams for facial recognition and iris.
If this is not the case, you can buy a new computer or equip your machine with some additional peripherals and accessories such as fingerprint or camera accessories so that you can use the facial unlocking Biometric security of Windows Hello.

Set up the unlocking with Windows Hello facial recognition

As mentioned earlier, this feature requires a Webcam or a specific 3d camera or any other accessory that is compatible with Intel Real sense technology.
If your computer incorporates this type of hardware then you can have access to Windows hello and unlock with facial recognition.

1- Click the windows icon in the “Start” menu and then click “settings”

2- Click on “accounts” then “sign-in options”

3- You need to set up a PIN code before you're allowed to use Windows Hello. So click the "Add" button under "PIN" to set that up.

4- Click the "set up" button to unlock the screen with facial recognition.

5- Enter your PIN and all is set.

6- Make tests for example with or without glasses and change the lighting conditions of your office.
7- When you finish improving your face recognition click Close.
The next time you need to connect the system will recognize your face automatically and you will be connected without needing to enter a password.
