Introduction:

One of the many new features in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is that the operating system can now automatically re-open programs that were running before shutdown or restart. If you close Windows 10 with some applications open, some of them are restarted at the next startup, which is not desirable for some users.

There are many users who prefer to block the automatic reopening of programs after restart in Windows 10.
So today, we present you with a series of methods to prevent the automatic start of applications after a reboot.

Note: An interesting point is that not all programs reopen automatically after rebooting.
How to disable this feature?

Stop reopening programs automatically after rebooting in Windows 10

1.    First, click the Start menu on your computer then select settings. In the Settings window click on Accounts.

2.    In accounts, click in the left pane on sign-in options

3.    When a new page opens, access the connection options in the left pane. Click on it to open more settings in the adjacent right pane.

4.    Look carefully in the Privacy section and disable the option to Use my login information to automatically complete my device configuration after an update or reboot.

Now, quit the Settings application and the option will block the automatic reopening of programs after reboot.

Use Shutdown.exe to stop or restart

The second method is to use the Shutdown.exe command to shut down or restart Windows.

Create a shortcut on the desktop with the following command line:

1. Go to the search box on your computer's taskbar and type cmd. The command prompt appears as the best match. Now, right-click on it and select "Run as Administrator".

2. In the next black window, type the following command when you want to shut down your computer:
shutdown -t 0 -s
