So, here you will find a simple method to prevent Chrome from automatically updating in Windows 10 through the system configuration. It does not provide the user with complete control over the update. It ensures that updates are automatically installed on computer systems.

Disable Chrome's automatic update in Windows 10

1.    Press the combination of Win + R, and then type the msconfig command in the box space. After that, do not forget to press Enter to execute the command.

2.    This will open a new system configuration window for your device. Here, go to the Services tab to disable the automatic update of Chrome.

3.    Select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box at the end of the window. This is just a preventive measure in order not to stop important services by mistake.

4.    Locate Google Update (gupdate), Google Update (gupdatem) in the list of services. Then uncheck only the boxes in front of the Services and click on the Disable button. Finally, select Apply, then OK and restart your PC.
