The purpose of this article is how to let the computer boot to the USB drive or CD / DVD that was created and not to the hard drive to start the Windows installation. Do not panic! It's very simple to do!

Set the boot order of devices

In order to start the computer on a device of your choice, you must configure this option by following the procedure mentioned below:

Restart your computer and display the BIOS Setup Menu. BIOS access is available by pressing a key on the "splash screen" or "splash screen". This key can in some cases be indicated as in the example below, it is necessary to press the key F12

It differs from one manufacturer to another as shown in the following table:

After pressing the right key, you will access the BIOS setup interface. It varies according to the brand of the computer. Yours may look like the image. Once, several options are available, use the right and left arrow keys to move to the category "Boot" or "Start" indicated in the bar at the top. Press Enter, and you will see a submenu that is specific to PC startup.

Use the arrows to select "hard drives," and press "Enter."

Choose the "1st Drive", type "Enter".

Select the "USB: your USB brand" option if you want to install Windows from a bootable USB drive, and press "Enter" to set the USB drive as the first bootable option.

Configure the start order

Once the good reader is ranked first, exit to the "Boot" menu and move to the "Exit" section. Then, validate the "Exit and Save Configuration Changes" line to save the changes, an option also available anywhere in the BIOS by the F10 button. At the next startup, the computer will automatically restart from your CD or USB key.
