Introduction
Error 404 is an error code that indicates that the requested web page is non-existent.
The HTTP server, therefore, sends a page that displays this error 404, which informs that the searched page is not found.
This error can only be corrected by the owner of the website on which the error is displayed.
Common causes of a 404 error
According to the typology of the site (blog, e-commerce, showcase site ...), the causes are numerous but remain very often common:
- The pure and simple removal of the page (bad handling, redesign of the site, exhausted product ...)
- A change of URL for x reason but keeping the old internal mesh.
- Internal or external link to a bad URL
