Introduction:

In Windows 10, you can change the location of the storage drive for recording new applications, documents, music, photos, videos, and movies. You can use any internal, external, or removable drive as a storage location. These locations will be indicated in the folders in Quick Access.

The new storage location you select will automatically be included in the same library of documents, music, images, or videos as your default backup location. This way, when you save items to the library, they will actually be saved to the selected storage location.

Steps to follow

If you disconnect a drive that you have set as a backup storage location, storage backup location automatically returns to the default this computer until you drive in again.

Items saved in a storage location are not automatically moved to a new storage location when selected.
