Introduction:

When you use a cloud-based online storage provider such as OneDrive to store files online only, some Windows applications can download these files automatically. For example, a music player application such as Windows Media Player can download your music files online to play them.

When an application downloads files online only, you receive a notification of automatic file downloads that shows where they are downloaded from and how much they are downloaded, as well as the progress of the download.

When you receive these notifications, do one of the following:

• Do nothing, or reject the notification - If the download is expected and all is well, let the notification disappear by itself once the download is complete. Or, select the arrow at the top right of the notification to move it to the action center.

• Cancel download - To stop a download that has already started.

• Block application - To cancel the download and prevent the application from downloading files online only in the future.
