Microsoft Edge is the default browser of the Windows 10 operating system, it is the most impressive in terms of performance and useful features.
After the anniversary update of Windows 10 the Microsoft Edge browser finally supports the popular extensions available on the Windows Store, which allows to enrich the basic functionalities of the browser.
So how do I install extensions in Microsoft Edge?
Step 1: Access extensions from Microsoft Edge
- First you need to launch the Edge Browser
- Click Menu, which is located on the upper-right corner of the window.
- Once you click on it, you will get a list of all available options.
- Click on “extensions".
- To install a new extension, click Get Store Extensions
Step 2: Install the extensions from Windows Store
Once you click "Get Store Extensions," the Windows Store will be launched and a list of available extensions will be displayed.
- Scroll down to find the desired extension
- To begin the installation process, click on the icon of the extension you want to install it, then at the top of the window on the Free button.
- Then click on the "launch" button
- A window appears informing you that a new extension is available. To use it click on the "activate" button
Step 3: Adjust the extension settings in Microsoft Edge
After completing the installation process, you must return to your Microsoft Edge browser to adjust the settings for the extension.
For example, if you want your new extension to appear in the navigation bar, you must:
- Go to the list of extensions
- Right click
- You get an option "Show button next to the address bar"
- Switch to "On" to enable this option
You can also uninstall the Microsoft Edge browser extension by clicking on the corresponding option.
Now you can add the extensions you want easily with simple clicks.
