If your computer running Windows 7 takes more than a minute to start, there may be too many programs that start when the operating system starts.

In this article we will see how to start your Windows 7 faster without the need for software using the "Msconfig" command. "MSconfig" is the utility to control the start-up of Windows applications.

Steps to optimize the performance of your PC:

1- Click Start
2- Type "msconfig" in the search program and files bar

3- A "System configuration" window will be displayed, click the "Boot" tab, and then click "Advanced options".
4- In the Advanced Options window, select Number of processors and select the maximum number from the drop-down menu.
5- Then check Maximum memory and set the maximum memory you have.

6- Click Start, then uncheck all applications which has nothing to do with the Windows start-up. Basically, every application except the ones that are necessary for the smooth running of Windows. Example of application to uncheck: Skype, Google Chrome ...

N.B: You can launch these applications manually afterwards.

7- Click Apply and then Ok and restart your computer.

Now your computer will restart faster than before!
