Introduction:

When you upgrade to Windows 10 from another version of Windows, the operating system automatically sets your default Web browser to the new Microsoft Edge, even if you have defined Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or another web browser in Windows 7 or 8. This new web browser appeared with Windows 10.

Fortunately, Windows 10 does not uninstall your previous browser of choice, and it's easy to change the default Web browser from the operating system again.

This article shows you how to change the default Windows 10 browser for Opera, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome.

Steps to follow:

These steps would also help to replace other apps set by default, such as one that handles the playback of photos and videos, e-mail, music.

Please check the below steps on how to do it:

1. First, open the Start menu and select Settings.

2. Then click on Apps

3. In the options that appear, select Default Apps in the left pane.

4. Next, scroll down and click on the web browser, which probably has the Edge icon selected if you have just been upgraded from a previous version of Windows.

5. Click the icon. A list of the browsers installed on your PC will appear. Select the browser you want Windows 10 to use by default. If you do not see your browser of choice, it means that it is not installed on PC, so, go and download it and browse this simple process again.

Congrats! From now on, all web links will open on Chrome, Firefox, Opera or any other replacement browser you have selected.
