Introduction:
Screenshots are useful - whether you're trying to write a practical article or show your colleague something on your screen, or maybe you're playing a game on Windows, and you want to keep your accomplishments with one screenshot. No matter why you want to take a screenshot; this guide will show you how to take a screenshot on Windows 10 using the built-in Windows snipping tool.
The Snipping Tool is an excellent desktop application for taking screenshots. It can create all sorts of screenshots, and you can also use it to make simple changes.
Steps to follow:
1. Click Start> Windows Accessories> Snipping Tool.
2. Click the "Mode" button to select one of the 4 screenshot types: Freeform Snip, Rectangular Snip, Window Snip (the program open in the foreground) or Full screen Snip.
• Freeform Capture allows you to draw an irregular line around an object or area.
When you release the mouse button, the captured area is automatically copied into the marking window, where you can annotate, save, or share the screenshot.
• Rectangular Capture allows you to take a screenshot in the shape of a rectangle, by dragging the cursor around an object.
• Window Capture allows you to select an Examples window: Your Internet browser or dialog box (eg Error message received from an application) and capture it.
• Capture full screen allows you to capture the entire screen.
3. To save the screenshot, click the Save button,
4. Select the location where you want to save it, type the file name and choose the file type: PNG, GIF, JPEG, or HTML.
5. Press Save.
