Introduction:

Cryptomator is a very useful software that allows you to encrypt and protect your data. This is a free open source application for users who want to encrypt their files from start to finish. You can decide to encrypt data locally on your computer or even on the cloud.

This application uses Java, and works perfectly under Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and so on. Android and iOS system.

In this article, we will show you how to set it up with your own cloud synchronization client.

Steps to follow:

Check the below steps on how to setup Cryptomator:


1. Install and configure the ownCloud synchronization client if you have not already done so.
2. Choose a folder, which will contain your cloud sync data.
3. Download Cryptomator by clicking here.
4. Install the software by clicking on the executable and following the installation steps of the standards.
5. Once the installation is complete, you can launch the tool and create a vault. Simply click on the "+" and then "Create a new vault".

6. Choose the location to store your vault, for example, your Google Drive account.

7. Name your vault and click Save. It will appear as a folder in the application.
8. Create your password by choosing a very strong one.

9. Re-enter your password.

10. Click Unlock Vault to access it.

11. The new folder will appear in the explorer in the Network Locations.

12. Open the folder and drop the files you want.
